A newly leaked photo of the upcoming HTC U (Ocean) smartphone has revealed that it will be arriving with a glass design.

Predecessor flagship phones such as HTC 10, HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 are all packed with full metallic chassis. The phone seems to have thick bezels on the top and bottom sides of the front panel. However, its side bezels are quite thin. The chin of the phone seems to feature a Home button embedded with a fingerprint scanner. The back panel of the phone has a rear camera which is speculated to be of 12-megapixel. It is accompanied with a dual-tone LED flash. An HTC logo can be seen sitting at the center of the rear panel.

The HTC U is rumored to be codenamed as HTC Ocean. Evan Blass who is the first to reveal information about the phone has stated that a 5.5-inch quad HD screen will present on it. It will be driven by Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4 GB of RAM. It is speculated to come in two storage models such as 64 GB and 128 GB. It is also rumored to feature a microSD card slot.

The 12-megapixel rear camera is rumored to include IMX362 sensor and it will be supporting features like OIS and 4K video shooting. The front-facing 16-megapixel camera is speculated to house a Sony IMX351 sensor. It will come preinstalled with HTC Sense 9 UI flavored Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. It may arrive with a 3,000 mAh battery.

The HTC U Ultra and U Play phones that were unveiled in January this year are the other two smartphones from the new HTC U lineup. The Taiwanese company is also rumored to launch HTC One X10 mid-range phone soon.
