A recent announcement has been made by scientists this week. There has been a confirmed orbit around Saturn that indicates that there may be life on Enceladus.

Enceladus is one of the 62 moons of Saturn. Powerful geysers and subsurface saltwater ocean were discovered when the Cassini turned its focus towards Enceladus. The Cassini spacecraft has been orbiting around Saturn since 2004 according to EarthSky.

This latest finding has been published in the journal Science just recently. It is indicated that a layer of surface ice has been found in the ocean of Enceladus. Cassini also detected a certain amount of molecular hydrogen when the Cassini orbited around the Enceladus in October 2015.

Scientists explained that this latest observation indicated that there may be some hydrothermal reactions that were occurring in the Enceladus ocean floor. It may be that the moon contained chemical energy and may be useful for living microbes.

Meanwhile, it is reported that there may be no proof of life in Enceladus yet but a food source for living microbe was found on the moon's surface. It also I indicated that Enceladus has been found to provide habitable conditions as reported by The Science Times.

In the meantime, aside from the discovery of life in Enceladus, there also were some discoveries of possible life in other planets. It was reported that water vapor was also found in Jupiter's moon Europa by the Hubble Space Program.

It is believed that Europa is older than Enceladus and it suggested that there may be more life on Jupiter's moon. Cassini also ended its orbit because it was reported to collide with the Saturn. The operation was stopped on September 15.

It seems that the universe is filled with mystery. There will be more discoveries from space as the season moves along. Life in Saturn may be a possibility after all.
