To celebrate the Earth Day, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has sectioned off 64,000 individual pieces of Earth to be adopted by individuals all over the world.

“Adopt a piece of Earth as seen from space. Your personalized adoption certificate will feature data from NASA’s Earth-observing satellites for a randomly assigned location," NASA said.

According to Tribune, an individual can adopt a piece on Earth this upcoming Earth Day. NASA believes that Earth is in need of love, protection, and attention.

Each piece of the Earth that can be adopted is about 55 miles wide and is assigned at random, according to CNN. NASA's program works in the same way like adopting a highway since participants need pay to support a piece of the Earth. However, they do not receive any legal documentation or property rights in return for the adoption. Instead of a brand new 55-mile property, what the individual will get is in-depth scientific data about the little corner of the world, as well as a certificate showing them as an adoptive planet parent.

If you are interested in NASA's Adopt The Planet Earth Day activity, keep in mind that you do not own the piece of Earth property because there are no legal or ownership rights to the program. NASA is using this strategy to make people more aware of what happening in different parts of the Earth.
