The Verge reports that during Nintendo's live-stream event that has been held today, they have apparently revealed several new accessories for the Switch. The company unveiled that they will be releasing an all brand-new neon yellow-colored Joy-Con controller. It is expected that it will complement the existing red, blue, and gray variants. With this, players can equip their Switch consoles with various color combinations as all the controllers can be mixed and match.

Moreover, Nintendo has revealed a new battery pack which has been made particularly for the Joy-Con controller, GSM Arena writes. Like most back-up packs, its battery peripheral doesn't include an internal lithium-ion battery. Instead, standard or rechargeable AA batteries are Joy-Con battery pack's sources of power.

Given that the Joy-Con controllers don't really die that easily, Nintendo is being questioned as to why they came to a decision of supplying it with a battery pack. Each of the Joy-Con controllers can last up to 20 hours when fully charged. Also, the controllers get to be charged automatically as soon as they are attached to the gaming system's main dock.

Furthermore, it is also worth noting that the battery pack comes in handy on long trips especially when the dock becomes unavailable. When these controllers are attached to the stock controller grips or used in tablet mode, they utilize their own internal power. With the battery pack, the controllers can now be charged while being used. What's more, the pack is also said to be designed to provide players with additional grip.

Lastly, Nintendo has announced that both the AA controller battery pack and Joy-Con controllers are slated to launch on June 16. This would also be accompanied with the company's release of their new fighting video game titled "Arms."
