Rumors are coming out of the upcoming release of the iPad Pro 2. Additional assumptions of the iPad Pro 2 incorporating the same technology as the NVIDIA Volta are also on the rise. However, despite the surging speculations, Apple has not confirmed any of the notions to be true.

In a former report it shared that targeting a 20-nanometer, 16-nanometer FinFET+, 10-nanometer, 7-nanometer, and 7-nanometer+ technologies are being used for the "high-end smartphone, [high performance computing], automotive, [and] games" markets and 12-nanometer tech (which is referred to as 12-nanometer FFC, or "FinFET Compact") is aimed at "mainstream smartphone and automotive" application.

However, since NVIDIA Volta centers on high-performance graphics processors, it could certainly be counted as "high-performance computing" as well as "games" products and certainly not "mainstream smartphone and automotive" chips, and it's clear that 12-nanometer is unlikely to be suitable for NVIDIA's Volta family of graphics processors.

That being said, it is not possible for Apple's iPad Pro 2 to incorporate the same tech as the NVIDIA Volta. With the specs and features revealed, tech enthusiasts should be aware that the technology to power up both devices are not the same. Since they don't belong to the same category, the rumors linking the two power core have been debunked.

On a different note, the specs and features of the iPad Pro 2 is set to magnify the previous models. Also, there are reports coming about that Apple may be looking to position a new iPad Pro as a laptop replacement, similar to the Surface book, Lenovo Yoga and XPS 13 with their flexible form factors and touch screen.

The touch screen and form factor features were something that the MacBook Air was missing, and an upcoming iPad Pro 2 can provide it. It is also speculated that the new device will include a new Apple Pencil and will reduce the bezels, reports the same post.

For the tech enthusiasts, every speculation linking the new iPad Pro 2 and NVIDIA Volta should be taken with a grain of salt in mind.
