Creative Assembly and Sega are gearing up towards the release of "Total Warhammer 2" happening later this 2017. To whet the appetite of gamers, the studio has recently revealed a slew of exciting gameplay details including a dramatic cinematic trailer that fans can feast their eyes on.

The first ever sneak peek at "Total War: Warhammer 2" introduced the players to three races, namely the High Elves, the Dark Elves and the Lizardmen. These three races fighting against one another over a small ground in the deep jungle terrain.

The fourth race to be featured in the sequel remains a big secret as of yet. However, the stinger shown right before the end of the trailer goes completely dark hints that it's got to be Skaven, the non-humanoid villains of Vermintide.

Moreover, the developer has also released a dev diary video titled "Vision" a day ago. In the clip, Creative Assembly detailed into the process of developing the different aspects of the game, including the story of the Great Vortex.

"Players will struggle for dominion over the ailing Great Vortex that has swirled for millennia above the Elven homeland of Ulthuan," the studio stated. "Performing a series of arcane rituals, each race must save or disrupt the Vortex according to their motivations-a struggle culminating in a cataclysmic endgame".

Game director Ian Roxborough further commented in the diary video that players who are not huge of a Big Story can simply tackle the multiplayer battles right away. They can skip the narrative and can opt out of battle for the Vortex.

The game developer has been praised for its hard work on creating each race in the first title to be unique and different from the rest and Roxborough vowed that the studio will live by this credo for "Total War: Warhammer 2".

In addition, Elyse Gymer revealed that differentiating the Elven races is difficult as these are both humanoid, although, the Lizardmen race is  the most unique. "We tried doing mo-cap for them, and we found that they were pushing too far into the human side. So we went much more animalistic [with their movements]."

"Total War: Warhammer 2"  is the follow-up to the hit turn-based strategy video game developed Microsoft Windows, Linux and MacOS via Steam platform.  It is scheduled to arrive later this year.
