Samsung's voice assistant has been in the rumor mill in recent months. Several names were suggested to be its official moniker. Out of all the interesting names circulating on the internet, it appears that the name "Bixby" is the winner. The South Korean tech company is yet to confirm the arrival of Bixby as the virtual assistant of its upcoming devices, but the company's Italian website has spilled the beans.

The official Samsung Italian website has a new version of its privacy policy, wherein the name "Bixby" was mentioned in the "voice services" heading of the text. According to Tech Radar, the English translation of the webpage does not say anything about Bixby's specific duties and features, but it is pretty clear that the voice assistant is coming soon. Also, it confirmed that Bixby would be launched alongside Samsung Galaxy S8 in the next few weeks.

As per the translated text, it appears that Bixby will be able to perform different tasks with voice commands. Nothing specific was mentioned regarding these operations, but it looks like Bixby will match Google Assistant, Cortana, Alex, as well as Apple's Siri. There are rumors that Bixby will be able to work efficiently with several third-part applications, not to mention that it will support at least eight languages.

The official launch of Bixby as Samsung's next voice assistant after the S-Voice is expected to take place on March 29, the same day when the company will unveil the new Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones. Bixby will help to promote the Galaxy S7 successor, as the upcoming mobile device will be the first from Samsung to feature the virtual assistant.

Aside from its voice assistant, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is said to have a pressure-sensitive screen based on organic LCD. According to South Korean news outlet The Investor, Samsung Display is working on this new display technology to be featured on the Galaxy S8. Giving way to the "virtual home button," the new mobile phone display will utilize touch sensitivities for specific tasks like navigating through the home screen and opening apps.
