The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is believed to be released between March and June of this year. The device is said to be a major upgrade from its predecessor and leaks have shown it with a Windows 10 feature.

According to reports, Microsoft product designer Toby Fitch revealed on his LinkedIn profile that he has worked on products like Xbox, HoloLens and Surface Pro 5. It is interesting to see how the upcoming tablet is better than its predecessor.

Tablets have become more and more like laptops and an example of it is the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 which comes with Windows 10. It also has the best-looking 12.3-inch display with 2,736 x 1,824 resolution and powerful horsepower with built-in detachable keyboard and touchpad combination. It costs $900 and $1,100 with its stylus and optional keyboard.

The Surface Pro 4 sports a sixth gen Intel Core m3, i5 or i7 processor and CAD/CAM software. It weighs 1.69 pounds and boasts of up to 9 hours of battery life on continuous video playback.

Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to be powered by the seventh-gen Intel Kaby Lake chipset and it is speculated to come with a pre-installed Windows 10 Redmond 3 version.

The Kaby Lake processor is said to consist of a 14-nm manufacturing process that provides 40 percent improved performance and cooling technology than that of the earlier model. The Windows 10 Professional Redstone 2 OS is expected to come with innovative features such as a revamped action center.

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to feature a 4k wide screen with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and could offer only the 128 GB model. It is rumored to come in 21-inch, 24-inch and 27-inch display variants with PixelSense panel and 16 GB of RAM with Surface AIO graphics unit. It could feature the USB Type-C version 3.1 with Thunderbolt.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also rumored to sport a 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front snapper. It may support 512 GB to 1 TB of storage SSD. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity will most likely be enhanced as well.

The Surface Pro 5 may also come with an upgraded S Pen with a rechargeable battery capable of wireless charging through a tablet dock. A fingerprint scanner and trackpad are also part of the rumored specs. It could come at a price of 899 USD for the base model.
