'Final Fantasy XIV' PS3 Support to End on June 2017; Square Enix to Feature Updated Deep Dungeon System in 'Stormblood' Expansion!

The latest details for "Final Fantasy XIV" will feature the possible endof its PS3 support and an updated Deep Dungeon System in "Stormblood" expansion.

Game producer Naoki Yoshida revealed several interesting features that will be present in "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" as he told Gamerescape that the expansion will feature an updated Deep Dungeon system.

Although, Yoshida did not reveal any specific detail, gamers will notice new Deep Dungeon system will be implemented somewhere in "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" and encourage them to look around when they have a chance.

Yoshida added that there is a chance that players can access the Ala Mhigo region, but it will be limited. For the Doma region, players will not be worried about liberating the region before entering the area.

Sadly, gamers will not be able to gain access to the island of Thavnair in the "Stormblood" expansion as Yoshida confirmed that it will not be available right way when the 4.0 launches.

Square Enix is also planning of having a loyalty program within "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood," but the way Yoshida explained it is that it is not about rewarding gamers who have been continuously subscribing to the game for a long time, but rather in a shorter span.

For instance, gamers who have signed up in "Final Fantasy XIV" three months in a row, they will get a reward in the game.

Lastly, Square Enix clarified details regarding the 24-man trial in the Proto Ultima as Yoshida stated that they did not have plans for that and its was intentional put into the alliance raids.

Meanwhile, Square Enix announced that they will no longer support the services of "Final Fantasy XIV" players in the PlayStation 3 this year.

The Japanese developers stated that PS3 users will have until the forthcoming release of "Stormblood" on June 20 to play "Final Fantasy XIV" on the third generation console.

For players who are looking to continue to play "Final Fantasy XIV's" new expansion, PS3 users will have an option to upgrade into the PS4 version for free courtesy of Sony and Square Enix

In addition, a players who upgrades with an expired game subscription gets 14 days of complimentary play time with no additional purchase required.

Players who already have a free trial in progress, or any play time remaining on their account when they upgrade, are deemed ineligible for the bonus play time.

Although PS3 game services in "Final Fantasy XIV" may come to an end when "Stormblood" launches, the free upgrade campaign continues through Dec. 31, Yahoo News reported.

"Stormblood" expansion will launch on June 20 as "Final Fantasy XIV" is currently available to the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
