The LG X Power2 is the new smartphone that will be physically unveiled to the world at the 2017 Mobile World Congress, along with the firm's latest flagship phone, the LG G6. Just like the original X Power handset, this second iteration model focuses on battery life.

LG advertises the X Power2 in an official blog post stating that it has the battery capacity to let users operate it for an entire weekend without the need for a recharge. It can allegedly allow 15 hours of continuous video playback from a full charge with its 4,500mAh capacity.

The X Power2 will reportedly support web surfing for about 18 hours and 14 hours for navigational directions. To beef up the prowess of its battery even further, LG incorporated high-speed charging technology which will reportedly allow the handset to have 50 percent battery power in a matter of one hour.

Another feature included in the device is Comfort View, which makes reading web comics and e-books more comfortable as it reduces the amount of blue light being emitted by the phone's display.

The smartphone holds a 5.5-inch HD Display with In-Cell Touch Technology. The screen will be able to offer clear and vivid colors for images and videos.

"The LG X power2 has the most powerful battery capacity in LG's entire smartphone line-up so users can enjoy many hours of multimedia entertainment on its roomy display without worrying about recharging," stated LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company President Juno Cho. "The entire X series is all about great technology and great value, both important features for today's discerning smartphone customer."

Aside from its massive battery, the X Power2 also has 16GB of storage, a Micro SD card slot, a 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor, and either 2GB or 1.5GB of RAM. It is reported to be running on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.

To go along with the announcement, LG released a trailer for the X Power2. The short video clip highlights the smartphone's large battery.
