The new studio headed by BioShock creator Ken Levine has finally been revealed - it is named Ghost Story.
Ghost Story was co-founded by twelve former Irrational Games developers - the studio closed in 2014 - including creative director Ken Levine, art director Shawn Robertson, and executive producer Don Roy. An FAQ reveals the studio's first project is a new immersive sci-fi game with RPG elements, which is still in the early stages of production.

According to Game Rant, many are wondering what Levine and the team have been creating, but the new studio is not ready to discuss its first project just yet. There have been a few hints, however, as the team describes itself as being dedicated to creating immersive story-driven experiences for fans who love games that provide a bit of a challenge. Ghost Story's mission statement also name drops "BioShock," which arguably the highest profile game many of its staff have ever worked on. However, the studio makes it clear that they are no longer involved with that franchise.

"We are in such a fortunate situation - to be working on a new IP, on a small team of highly experienced developers, with strong direction and with the backing of a well-established company, we are truly in a unique position to explore a new idea," technical lead Jeremy Carson stated.

Levine and friends have been quietly working on their next project for a couple of years and are now hiring to fill a couple of key positions, including a senior designer and senior level builder. As for "BioShock," publisher 2K received the rights to develop new games in the franchise when Levine dissolved Irrational.
