Nubia is a civilization that prospered and ruled Egypt in the 25^th dynasty. This civilization flourished, and its people have been labeled as the builders of the pyramids. With its last bastion, the ancient city of Meroe, this civilization is not lost but is still present in what is now called Sudan and Southern Egypt.

According to Britannica, Nubia was situated in Northeastern Africa. It extended from the Nile River to the first cataract of Upper Egypt and towards the shores of the Red Sea. Going towards the South, it reaches Khartoum in present day Sudan. From the south towards the north and towards the southern end of the Nile River's second cataract is Upper Nubia, now called Ethiopia.

In Egypt, the Nubians built temples and several palaces to house the Pharaoh and the royal household. They constructed pyramids across the vast landscape at Meroe, the Nubian capital, about 300 B.C., Live Science reported. The Nubians created their writing style, which is known in the present time as Meroitic. They ruled Egypt until they were driven out by the Assyrians.

While Nubia is no longer existing at present, archaeological findings reveal that the lost civilization expands throughout Sudan and Southern Egypt. The ancient Nubians built temples, cemeteries and the walled city of Kerma in Sudan. It was the trade center, and archaeologists have unearthed items such as gold, ivory and cattle remains from the site.
