ASUS Launched New Laptop Built for Gaming in India; The ASUS ROG Strix GL553

The Taiwanese company, ASUS, launched the ROG Strix GL553, a compact and light gaming laptop in India. The gaming laptop was first unveiled at CES 2017 in Las Vegas by AsusTek Computer Inc.

The Strix GL553 is a 15.6-inch laptop which sports an aluminum and polycarbonate body. The laptop features 15.6-inches Full HD Panel with wide 178 degrees viewing angles. A chiclet gaming keyboard with highlighted WASD and red-backlit keys powered by ASUS Aura which features four lighting areas is embedded on the device.

The GL553 is powered by a 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti/1050 graphics card. The device also comes with an expandable 16GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD. The Strix features an ROG-exclusive "Cooling Overboost" mechanism which offers flexible fan speeds for user customized control and maximum cooling efficiency which is suitable for intense gaming marathons.

"The product is aimed at young professionals who enjoy regular-through-heavy gaming sessions and premium entertainment on the go," A statement from Peter Chang, Regional Head-South Asia and Country Manager-System Business Group- ASUS India.

The ROG Strix GL553 also comes with a pre-installed Windows 10 Operating System and a reversible USB Type-C ports for easy device connections and ultra-fast data transfers. It also features a ROG Gaming Center which allows the user to gain access to all the functions necessary on a single dashboard.

Other specifications include 1 Ethernet port, 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 3.5mm headphone jack and a two-in-one card reader. The ROG Strix GL553 is also powered by a 4-cell 48 WHrs battery. This gaming laptop is now available in India for a price of Rs 94,990 or approximately 1,413.437 US Dollars.

ROG was formed for the sole purpose of delivering the most innovative hardcore hardware for truly dedicated gamers.
