Bandai Namco has reportedly announced the official release date for the "Tekken 7" console version. Last year, the company revealed an early 2017 target, but the actual launch schedule of June 2, 2017 makes it late. Producer Katsuhiro Harada also issued an apology to fans for the unforseen delay.

Katsuhiro Harada from Bandai Namco, explains that they were doing everything they could to release "Tekken 7" in early 2017. In an interview with Gamespot, the producer said "we were trying our best" to complete the game development in order "to get it into the hands of users as early as possible." He noted that some games from their company and from other publishers did not have "a very good launch because of a lack of content."

The "Tekken" producer apparently wanted to avoid encountering the same scenario. Together with his team, they made the decision to delay the release until their original content plans were met. Their decision was obviously a hard one to make, since the fans have already been waiting for the game to hit consoles since its 2015 arcade release. He points out that March or April was their original target, but their difficult decision caused it to be pushed back.

Consumers will apparently offer a Deluxe Edition package and a Collector's Edition Bundle. Both options will include a season pass, two extra characters and some bonus metallic costumes. Gamers who pre-order the game will also receive the vampire Eliza as an add-on fighter. She was originally featured in their "Tekken Revolution" free-to-play game. Game Rant notes that she was voted as a fan favorite to make a return in the latest game.

The only difference between the Deluxe and Collector's Edition is the included soundtrack CD, steel-book case and collectible statue bundled with the latter. The figure shows a dynamic scene where Heihachi is blocking Kazuya's kick with a palm strike. The season pass included in both bundles will also reportedly reward players with new fighters, stages, costumes and an unknown new game mode. Players can pre-order the Deluxe copy for $74.99 and $149.99 for the Collector's bundle.

"Tekken 7" will be released on June 2, 2017 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One. Gamers who pre-order their game for the Xbox One will reportedly receive "Tekken 6" for free, while PS4 pre-orders will get free legacy costumes for Jin, King, Xiaoyu and a "Jukebox" mode. The arcade edition of the game has only seen an official release in Japan. A trailer called "Rage and Sorrow has also been uploaded by Bandai Namco.
