Your eyes can apparently reveal your sexual orientation.

When a person's pupils dilates, it usually signifies that the person is attracted to something. A study has found that pupil dilation can be used as an indicator of sexual orientation. When a person is exposed to images and becomes aroused, his/her pupils dilate involuntarily.

The study research was experimented by developmental psychologist Ritch Savin-Williams from Cornell University. He noted that a certain "turn-on" could give away the person's sexual preference.

"So if a man say's he's straight, his eyes are dilating towards women. And the opposite with gay men, their eyes are dilating to men," he told Live Science.

The eyes dilate in response to stimulus such as when a person is looking at a loved one's face or if exposed to beautiful surroundings.

In another study, a more invasive experiment was used to determine a person's sexual orientation. For men, the blood flow to the penis was measured while the subject was exposed to erotic images, while women's vaginal walls are probed. However, people can consciously suppress genital arousal.

A systematic question and answer method may also be problematic since many people are uncomfortable discussing their sexual choice.

Therefore, observing pupil dilation is believed to be the most accurate and non-invasive way of understanding a person's sexual preference.

Savin-Williams conducted the research with 165 men and 160 women. The subjects were made to watch three different videos; a guy masturbating, a woman masturbating, and a neutral landscape.

The research concluded that straight men's pupils dilate when watching women, while gay men have that reaction to other men. For women, it is observed that their arousal was somehow similar whether they were watching either sexes,so  their preference was further identified by a series of questions.
