Outgoing US President Barack Obama has received various tributes as he prepares to leave office. Some of these tributes have come in the form of having animal species like a lizard, fish, parasite, and bird named after him.

Obama's different tributes prove that the people will remember him as one of most acclaimed US leaders. Significantly, he is the first black American to rule America.

Like any of his predecessors, President Obama has served his country with great dedication. In recognition of his work, a Californian trapdoor spider named 'Barackobamai' is one of the beautiful tributes he has received.

Jason Bond, a spider expert, named this beautiful creature 'Barackobamai.' It belongs to the genus Aptostichus, and found in California. "The poise, elegance, and integrity with which he conducted himself over the past eight years was amazing," Bond quoted.

Nine creatures have been named after Obama. He has received the most number of tributes among all US Presidents. Theodore Roosevelt ranks the second with seven.

Some of the other creatures named after President Obama are the Lizard obamadon gracilis, lichen caloplaca obamae, blood sucking parasite baracktrema obamai, Perchlike fish etheostoma Obama, hairworm paragordius obamai, puffbird nystalus obamai, African fish teleogramma obamaorum, and the coral reef basslet fish tosanoides Obama.

"As long as humans are doing biology, those names persist," according to Carolus Linneaus, who formalized the modern system of naming organisms in 1700's and known as the father of taxonomy.

Obama has also received various tributes from music fans.
