The desktop PC market is currently crowded with different brands and models that cater to different needs. PC makers are thinking of new ways to make their product appeal to consumers. Dell's approach to this challenge is to equip its newest XPS 27 all-in-one PC with 10 speakers.

The Dell XPS 27 has six-rounded speakers integrated on the lower portion of the display. Four of which covers the mid and bass frequencies, while the two speakers on the corner are dedicated tweeters. There are two down-firing, full-range speakers, and two passive radiators, according to The Verge.

While some tech analysts might say that Dell's design approach might seem to be an audio-overkill, it is important to note that audio is something that most desktop PC manufacturers have neglected over the years. Most of the time, users just buy a separate peripheral for audio like headphones or a speaker system. Dell is tapping into this opportunity to deliver a true all-in-one desktop PC.

Dell tapped music producer and engineer Jack Joseph Puig to design the XPS 27's audio system. Dell claims that the new XPS 27 is two times louder that the 27-inch Apple iMac and it has up to 10 times the bass of the HP Envy 27.

The Dell XPS 27 offers a couple of 4K display choices. One model has touch features and a stand that can pivot the computer to an almost flat position. Another model ditches the touch feature but has higher brightness at 350 nits compared to the 300 of the touch version.

Powering the Dell XPS 27 is a choice of sixth-generation Intel chips, either a Core i5 6400 or a Core i7 6700. The Core i5 chip has a top clock speed of 3.3GHz with Turbo Boost, while the Core i7 has a peak speed of 4GHz. According to Ars Technica, the XPS 27 can be configured with up to 32GB of internal memory and storage options can be configured up to 2TB SSD.

The Dell XPS 27 has a starting price of $1,499, with the high-end model going for as much as $2,000.
