Samsung is expected to release a statement over the much-hyped explosions of its now defunct Note 7 smartphone soon.

In mid-2016, reports about the smartphone suddenly combusting started surfacing and in no time, the news spread like fire. The number of complaints was too large for it to be considered just an accident. The many cases of the smartphone exploding proved that there was, indeed, a flaw in the Note 7.

Samsung has not officially commented on the matter or give any explanation but it compensated the affected users. The entire tech world has been waiting to hear from Samsung's side and the long overdue explanation will now come before this month's ends. The multinational tech company stated that there was not a single cause, but the combination of a few factors caused the Note 7 fiasco, according to BGR.

The Samsung Note 7 debacle was one the most expensive and widespread technology mistakes ever witnessed by the tech world. According to MMO Examiner, many believe that the device's battery was to blame for the explosions. However, this is yet to be corroborated by Samsung.

Samsung chalked a loss of around $5 billion dollars due to the Note 7 issue. The company ultimately banned the device for safety purposes.

Samsung's next big launch is the Galaxy S8. It remains to be seen whether the S8 would be able to bring back the consumer loyalty that Samsung used to enjoy so much.
