Arizona-based innovator Spencer Trotter has developed a portable solar-powered fridge and freezer called "Anywhere Fridge," which provides a cooling range from -15 degrees Celsius to 10 degrees Celsius.

The entire project started as a Kickstarter Campaign. The Anywhere Fridge is lightweight, collapsible and can fit in a backpack for easy transportation.

The fridge offers 24/7 refrigeration and freezing capabilities through its integrated solar panels and battery that can hold power for up to twelve hours. While coolers are usually kept away from direct sunlight due to ice melting, the Anywhere Fridge is energized by the sun and is thus "perfect for outdoor events."

While the fridge is solar-powered, it can also be charged by a standard outlet and a car cigarette lighter. The fridge was made weather-resistant so that even if left outside for one year, it can charge itself all day and run all night.

The Anywhere Fridge collapses down to five inches like a briefcase for easy storage. Also, it comes with a retractable handle and wheels for easy transportation. It is great for boaters, campers, hunters, medical transportation/storage, recreational vehicles and cabins. The fridge offers the strength and insulation of a home fridge in a compact, rugged appliance with reinforced PVC insulated walls to keep food cold for hours.

The fridge comes with a unique sleek look along with three charging ports USB AC & DC power where one can plug his/her phone or laptop into or whatever one needs to charge. It also has a built-in UV light to destroy 99.9 percent of germs such as salmonella or E. coli poisoning.

The fridge has an integrated battery which powers it even on cloudy days. Apart from outdoor recreational activities, the Anywhere Fridge can also be used for emergency situations such as natural disasters and power outages, especially in rural areas and remote places and for people who otherwise would not have access to power or refrigeration.
