Samsung has improved its Notebook 9 laptops, making them lightweight and powering them with its I7 Kaby Lake processors. Samsung said that the 13.3-inch version of its laptop is the lightest laptop available on the market.

The Notebook 9 has a curved display with 1,920 x 1080p screen resolution and a thinner and lighter body. This notebook, which is running on Windows 10, joins the bandwagon or small to zero bezels gadgets with its slim-bezel edges.

The 15-inch variant of the Notebook 9 weighs two pounds while the smaller 13.3-inch version weighs only 1.8 pounds. The Notebook 9 also boasts of powerful performance with its i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB hard disk. Tech Times reported that the 13.3 variant comes with an i5 processor and 16 GB of RAM.

It comes with all the common ports such as single Type-C USB port, two 3.0 USB ports, microSD slot, and HDMI. A USB 2.0 port is found only in the 15-inch version. A Type C USB can charge the laptop fully in just 80 minutes or just plug it in for 20 minutes, and it will suffice 2.1 hours of usage. However, the company only promises seven hours of battery life which is not bad because of its quick charge feature.

This notebook is also more appealing with its backlit keyboard and envelope size. Other additional features include its fingerprint scanner that rivals with Apple's TouchID.

The older version of the 15-inch variant weighs 2.9 pounds. However, both old and new versions cannot compete with Apple's flagship laptop MacBook that only weighs 2 pounds. Its gray and silver shade makes it less of a clone of Apple's notebook.

The Dong-A Ilbo reported that pre-orders for the Samsung Notebook 9 would start on Monday, Dec. 26 through the company's online store, store.samsung.com/sec. The 13.3-inch variant will cost $1,500 while its larger counterpart will be sold for $1,590.
