The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 tablet, running on the Windows 10 operating system, will go on sale on Dec. 30.

The 9.7-inch successor to the Mi Pad 2 is bigger and better with its 2,048 x 1,536 touchscreen making it comparable with the Apple iPad Pro 9.7 except that it's thinner at 6.08mm versus the latter's dimension at 6.1mm. It weighs 380g which makes it 57g lighter than its American competitor. Its metallic body comes in either gold or gray color, and the device's bottom speakers make it look like a replica of the iPad.

This tablet is expected to be powerful with its 8GB RAM and Intel 7th Gen Core m3-7Y30 processor. It comes with an 8,290 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It can also produce beautiful selfies with its 8-megapixel front camera and capture vibrant photos with its 16-megapixel with dual-tone LED flash rear camera. One difference between this latest model and its predecessor is that it would run only Windows 10 instead of Android-based MIUI and Windows.

Xiaomi's tablet line started with the Mi Pad launched in 2014. Last year, the Mi Pad 2 was unveiled carrying both Windows and Android operating system.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 will arrive on the market for $289 and $332 for its 128GB and 256GB variants respectively. The company will sell a keyboard dock separately for only $14.
