Speaking at the Code Commerce conference in California, Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey finally talked about what he previously described as "complicated" feelings about US President-elect Donald Trump's use of his social media platform.

When asked about whether he felt responsible for Trump's election into office, Dorsey noted that "America is responsible for Donald Trump being president," reported Guardian. Dorsey felt impressed by Trump's use of Twitter, saying that he excelled at the use of the social media, more than any other candidate.

Trump frequently uses Twitter. "I think it's an important time for the company and service. And having the president-elect on our service, using it as a direct line of communication, allows everyone to see what's on his mind in the moment. I think that's interesting. I think it's fascinating. I haven't seen that before," Dorsey said.

Dorsey has said that he is excited about how powerful social media has become in modern times, when everything is on the surface and can be seen in real-time, and people can have conversations about it. Dorsey said he feels very proud of the role that Twitter played during the presidential elections.

Beside being one of the most used social media services during the elections, Twitter has taken a stand, more than any other network, against the surge of far-right activity that followed Donald Trump's victory. To control the increasing amount of abuse, bullying, and harassment, the company announced a host of new safety features a few days after the elections. The measures included a crackdown on hate speech and a renewed focus on training moderators to react better to threats of violence and hateful conduct.
