Facebook has dethroned home rental startup Airbnb as the best technology company to work for in 2017 in the US, according to a new list released by Glassdoor. Google was ranked as the second best technology company to work for.

The career website has released a list of the 50 best companies to work for in the coming year as its ninth annual Employees' Choice Awards.

This is not the first time that Facebook has been crowned the top tech company to work for. While Airbnb was first in 2016, Google in 2015, and Twitter in 2014, Facebook had topped the list for three consecutive years between 2011 and 2013.

Out of fifty companies on the list, there are twenty tech companies, which is slightly down from twenty-one tech companies last year. While Airbnb and Google made the list again, Twitter failed probably due to the social networking company's ongoing woes.

Here are the tech companies on this year's U.S. list (ratings are based on a five-point scale, from 1.0 as very dissatisfied to 5.0 as very satisfied):

1. Facebook (#2, 4.5 rating)
2. Google (#4, 4.4 rating)
3. World Wide Technology (#5, 4.4 rating)
4. Fast Enterprises (#6, 4.4 rating)
5. LinkedIn (#8, 4.4 rating)
6. Adobe (#9, 4.3 rating)
7. Paylocity (#14, 4.3 rating)
8. SAP (#15, 4.3 rating)
9. MathWorks (#16, 4.3 rating)
10. Salesforce (#17, 4.3 rating)
11. Intuit (#20, 4.3 rating)
12. Docusign (#23, 4.3 rating)
13. Concur (#24, 4.3 rating)
14. Akamai (#25, 4.3 rating)
15. Zillow (#29, 4.2 rating)
16. NVIDIA (#30, 4.2 rating)
17. Airbnb (#35, 4.2 rating)
18. Apple (#36, 4.2 rating)
19. Microsoft (#37, 4.2 rating)
20. Texas Instruments (#42, 4.2 rating)

Facebook and Google have consistently outperformed (always making it to top 10). Apple does not come close (it is down to #36 from #25 last year) but it does always make the list. Microsoft, on the other hand, had not shown up in the past few years, but this year managed to place itself at #37.

The Employees' Choice Awards is based on the input of employees who choose to provide feedback (at least 1,000 must respond) on their job, work environment, and company via an anonymous online company review survey. Glassdoor then uses a "proprietary algorithm" to determine an overall ranking "based on the quantity, quality, and consistency of reviews."
